The Bio-polysaccharide Fiber Forming and Eco-Textile Laboratory of Qingdao University was approved by the Ministry of Education.

Recently, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Shandong Provincial People's Government and the Qingdao Municipal People's Government jointly issued a notice to approve the construction of the State Key Laboratory of Biopolysaccharide Fiber Forming and Ecological Textile Relying on the Construction of the Provincial Department of Qingdao University. During the five-year construction period, Shandong Province and Qingdao City provided 10 million yuan and 5 million yuan of special funds each year to support the construction of laboratories.

The State Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education is an important part of the national key laboratory system. It is an important measure for the Ministry of Science and Technology to strengthen the construction of regional innovation systems, enhance regional independent innovation capabilities, and strengthen basic research. The State Key Laboratory of Biopolysaccharide Fiber Forming and Eco-Textile has jointly developed the problems of bio-polyester fiber and eco-textile, focusing on bio-fibrillation resource selection and bio-polysaccharide production, bio-polysaccharide fiber forming theory and technology, and eco-functional textiles. In the direction of creation, in-depth basic research and applied basic research, and achieved a series of iconic original results; using renewable natural biomass resources as raw materials to produce fiber and textiles to meet the future development of the textile industry and the people's health, ecology, etc. Urgent need in the field; to solve the global problems such as environmental pollution and sustainable development of textile raw materials supply led by petroleum-based synthetic fibers, and provide scientific and technical support for the supply-side structural reform of China's textile industry.
