U.S. imports of Chinese textile and apparel increased slightly year-on-year

In May 2013, the total amount of US textile and apparel imports was US$8.148 billion, an increase of 3.86% year-on-year and an increase of 4.54% from the previous quarter. Among them, US$3.038 billion was imported from China, a year-on-year increase of 1.67%, 13.91% month-on-month, accounting for a total share of US imports of 37.29%; textile and apparel imports from Vietnam were US$672 million, an increase of 19.06% year-on-year, and a 4.09% increase from the previous quarter. 8.25%; Textile and apparel imports from India were 521 million US dollars, an increase of 0.2% year-on-year, and a decrease of 11.55% compared with the previous period, accounting for 6.39% of the total.

For the year ended in May 2013 (2013.1-2013.5), the total amount of US textile and apparel imports reached US$40.011 billion, an increase of 3.36% year-on-year.
